Workshop Goals:
- Strengthen scholarly writing and publication strategies
- Promote cross-disciplinary dialogue and co-learning
- Strengthen capacity for academic leadership and grant writing
- Encourage publication opportunities in high-impact journals
Themes Include:
- Peace–Humanitarian–Development Nexus
- Intersectionality in humanitarian/peace contexts
- Militarisation and securitisation of humanitarian/peace efforts
- Other critical issues in Peace, Conflict, and Humanitarian Studies.
Who Can Apply:
- PhD candidates or ECRs (within 10 years of PhD, excluding caregiving breaks)
- Early career researchers based in Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Philippines, South Africa, Turkey, Thailand, Vietnam and/or Least Developed Countries (LDC)1
- With limited (high-impact) publishing experience
- Proficient in written and spoken English
We especially welcome applications from women, LGBTIQ+ researchers, and those with diverse lived experiences.
Workshop Format:
- Virtual preparatory meeting (by February 2026)
- In-person workshop (8-10 April 2026, Rio de Janeiro)
- Virtual follow-up session (in late 2026)
Covered Expenses:
Selected participants will have their travel tickets, accommodation, international insurance, visa fees, and all workshop-related activities arranged and covered by the project. Other costs, including expenses outside the official program and dates, are the responsibility of the participants
